Supporting Green Energy Projects with Bullfrog Power

At Terramera, we recognize the importance of reducing our environmental impact and are taking action by choosing 100% green electricity through Bullfrog Power. They provide green energy from a combination of wind and low-impact hydropower sourced from renewable energy facilities throughout Canada, with at least 50% coming from our region. Bullfrog ensures that the electricity going onto the grid on our behalf is coming from green sources, displacing energy from conventional polluting sources. They also use our funds to provide critical financial support to local community-based green energy projects such as:

  • Haida Heritage Centre: Last summer, 385 solar panels were installed on the rooftop of Haida Gwaii’s cultural Heritage Centre, making it the largest community-owned renewable project in B.C. The 100 kW solar project will reduce the community’s electricity costs and reliance on fossil fuels.
  • Pender Island Community School Solar Project: This 105-panel, 28.4 kW solar array on the rooftop of Pender School is the largest solar electricity project on the island. It was installed in 2016 and is part of a campaign to install solar PV systems on the roof of every suitable public building on Pender by 2020.
  • Vancouver Cohousing‘s Community Solar Project: Located on the top of Vancouver’s first Cohousing Community is B.C.’s first co-operatively owned community solar project. The 90 panels were installed in 2016 and provide the community 25,000 kWh of clean electricity per year.

We are proud to choose Bullfrog for all of our office and laboratory operations. In doing so, we are supporting community-based green energy projects like these, taking action against climate change, cleaning up our air and water, and leading the way to a renewable future.
